Tribute to Philip Seymour Hoffman - 1967 - 2014
The song "Angel" was inspired by articles that Sarah McLachlan read in Rolling Stone about musicians turning to heroin to cope with the pressures of the music industry and subsequently overdosing. She said that she identified with the feelings that might lead someone to use heroin: McLachlan says; "I've been in that place where you've messed up and you're so lost that you don't know who you are anymore, and you're miserable—and here's this escape route. I've never done heroin, but I've done plenty of other things to escape." She said that the song is about "trying not to take responsibility for other people's problems and trying to love yourself at the same time."

TBAC - Roger Morgan: Obama/Holder Serving Soros, Republic Enemy Number One
By Roger Morgan, Take Back America Campaign
Obama, faced with his
“redline” declaration, is about to bomb Syria to avenge the 1500 people who
were heinously gassed to death in Syria.
How about, Mr. President, we
Americans “redline” you for turning your back on America’s drug problem, even
perpetuating the problem by ignoring your obligation to enforce federal CSA
laws. Almost all of the 1500 Americans
who die every two weeks started their drug journey with marijuana. While you punish Assad, maybe America should
punish you.
The reality is America has
been hijacked by Republic enemy number one, master of subversion, billionaire, sociopath
Drug Lord George Soros. Soros hates
America, and is the principle financier behind the pro-legalization movement, and
Obama’s campaign. Soros’ purpose is designed
to destroy a significant percentage of our population to help fulfill his
messianic vision of a new world order. Unfortunately, due to the corruptive
powers of his money, he controls the President, the press and the Democratic
Party.
Obama’s first act was to
downgrade the Drug Czar position from cabinet level to reporting to the Vice
President, a nice buffer so he wouldn’t have to face America’s biggest problem
directly. The result was we ended up
with two national drug policies: 1) Drug Czar Kerlikowske’s official national
drug policy, for political cover, and 2) Holder’s “do nothing” policy in terms
of enforcing federal law. The result is a 15 to 20% increase in marijuana use, and
an unenlightened nation being led down the path of destruction by legalization
efforts for a drug that causes permanent damage to adolescent brains, and
myriad other adverse outcomes.
Marijuana doesn’t kill by
overdose, but overdose isn’t the only cause of death. Marijuana is a causal factor in psychosis,
including schizophrenia, paranoia and suicidal depression. It is a major factor in armed robberies, violent
crime, traffic deaths, testicular cancer, respiratory problems including cancer
of the head, neck, throat and lungs, just to mention a few.
The mass shootings of late,
like Tucson, Aurora, the Pentagon and more are a result of marijuana induced
psychosis. Even the Boston Bombers were both
pot heads. Marijuana isn’t the only
cause of psychosis, but it is a major cause.
And rather than find resources to treat it and shovel up the damage, we
should be preventing it to begin with.
Nationally 53% to 87% of
arrestees test positive for drugs. The
average addict commits 100 crimes a year.
America has declined to 26th in the world academically, with
a one-third drop out rate. Each drop out
carries a life time cost of $392,000 … which equates to $470 billion per annum
considering we have 1.2 million dropouts.
In August 2012 research at U
of Texas San Antonio revealed that today’s high potency pot can kill a baby in
the womb within two weeks of conception, before the mother even knows she is
pregnant. Research from 40 or 50 years
ago showed marijuana caused still births to ruse from 12% normal to 44%. Babies that survived child birth often had
physical deformities and brain damage.
What’s worse, because of mutations to sperm the problem could result
from the male partner, and because it led to chromosomal abnormalities, it was
mutagenic, which meant the problem could leap one generation and effect the
next.
Obama’s administration
REFUSED to issue a health alert. Of
course that was pre election. How many babies have died, and/or will die,
because Obama is serving Soros instead of the American people?
By doing nothing, Obama has intentionally
allowed the proliferation of “medical hoax marijuana,” to spread to 21 states,
and marijuana use to grow by 15 to 20%. Now he and Holder have arrogantly condoned
recreational use of marijuana in Colorado and Washington, in direct
contradiction to the federal laws they are expected to uphold
Drugs, starting with
marijuana, kill, destroy and inflict more economic harm on America than all
events in modern history. If the
Commander-In-Chief is unwilling or incapable of fulfilling his oath of office
to protect the American people, then it is time to replace him with someone who
will.

CDC: Women's Painkiller Overdose Deaths Up 400 Percent Over Last Decade
![]() |
| Statistic by the CDC |
CBS News Reports - More than five
times as many women died of prescription painkiller overdoses in 2010 than in
1999, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reported on Tuesday. About 48,000 women have died from
painkiller overdoses between 1999 and 2010, an increase of 400 percent over the
period. In 2010, that amounted to about 18 women every day. About half of all
women's overdose deaths were due to prescription painkillers.
The startling statistics were
revealed in a CDC Vital Signs
report on July 2. Prescription painkillers include opioid or
narcotic pain relievers, including drugs like Vicodin, OxyContin, Opana and
methadone.
"They shouldn't be used
lightly, [only] where they are essential, necessary, something like severe
cancer pain," CDC director Dr. Tom Frieden told CBS News. "They are important
tools. But all too often, the risks are way higher than the benefits."
Since 2007, more women have died
from drug overdoses than motor vehicle crashes. Women ages 45 to 54 are at the
highest risk of dying from taking too many painkillers. About 10 percent of
female suicides are committed with prescription painkillers.
In addition, women between 25 and 54 are more likely than any other age group to have to go to the emergency room due to prescription painkiller misuse or abuse. For every woman who died of a prescription painkiller overdose, 30 more went to the emergency room for misuse or abuse. The rate of ER visits was about one woman every three minutes in 2010.
"It's a big problem among
women," Frieden said to the New York Times.
"It's underrecognized."
Overall, drug overdose
deaths rose for the 11th straight year in 2010, and in 60 percent of
the fatalities prescription painkillers were involved. Opioid deaths were
involved in three out of four medication-related deaths.
The CDC reported that men are still
more likely to die from painkiller overdoses. Male prescription painkiller
deaths also increased by 265 percent in the same time frame, but the gap
between the two genders is closing.
- Study shows 70 percent of Americans take prescription drugs
- More kids poisoned as medication prescribing rates increase
- FDA bans generic version of original OxyContin
Experts say that increased painkiller
prescription rates may be behind the rising numbers. Part of the reason that
women are so vulnerable is that they are more likely to be in chronic pain, be
prescribed painkillers, be given higher doses and use them longer than men.
Compared to men, women are also more likely to become addicted to prescription
painkillers faster and are more likely to "doctor shop" for more
prescriptions.
Dr. David Sack, CEO of Promises
Treatment Centers, previously told CBSNews.com that there was a push
to treat pain symptoms 40 years ago, which increased the frequency
of painkiller prescription. He said people feel comfortable using prescription
drugs because they come from pharmacies and doctors, but do not realize they
can have devastating effects if used together or if someone takes too many.
"It's kind of the Heath Ledger
phenomenon," Sack explained. "Even though any one of them are not
enough to cause an overdose, two or three of theme together is enough."
Opioid prescriptions belong in the
same family of drugs as heroin. Sack has also noted many cases of people
turning to black tar heroin from prescription drugs because it is cheaper.
Women were also more likely to die
of overdoses due to medicines for mental health conditions like antidepressants
or benzodiazepines (anti-anxiety or sleep drugs) than men.
Overdose isn't the only problem.
Prescription drugs taken by pregnant women can put the fetus at risk of
neonatal abstinence syndrome (NAS). NAS is a group of symptoms that happen when
a newborn has been exposed to addictive illegal or prescription drugs --
including amphetamines, barbiturates, benzodiazepines, cocaine, marijuana and
opiates/narcotics -- while in utero. It is similar to fetal alcohol syndrome
(FAS), which happens when a mother abuses alcohol while pregnant.
NAS symptoms depend on the type of
drug the mother used and how often she used it. They can include mottling
(blotchy skin coloring), diarrhea, excessive or high-pitched crying, excessive
sucking, fever, hyperactive reflexes, increased muscle tone, irritability, poor
feeding habits, rapid breathing, seizures, sleep problems, slow weight gain,
sweating, sneezing or stuffy nose, trembling or vomiting. Symptoms appear one
to ten days after birth.
The CDC said the U.S. government is
tracking prescription drug overdose trends to monitor the epidemic, teaching
health care providers and the public about the warning signs of abuse, and
creating programs to help treat prescription drug abusers and those who
overdose. In addition, the CDC says the Affordable Care Act should provide
better access to mental health and substance abuse treatment programs for those
who need it.
The CDC is encouraging health
providers to recognize the signs of prescription drug abuse in their patients
and follow guidelines when it comes to prescribing medications. Doctors should
avoid giving painkillers and benzodiazepines to the same patient, and help
pregnant women who are addicted seek help. Prescription drug monitoring
programs (PDMPs) can also help track patients who are abusing drugs and the
system.
Patients should discuss which
medications they are taking, including over-the-counter ones, with their health
care provider and only use them as directed. As soon as they are done using
treatment, they should discard any leftover medication. Patients should never
sell or share their prescription drugs, and be open with their health care
provider about their pregnancy plans before they take prescription drugs.

The Inquisitr: Teacher Arrested After Buying Drugs For Teenager Who Died The Next Day
Winder, GA – Emily Smith, a sixth-grade math teacher at the Winder Barrow Middle School, has been arrested. She is being accused of orchestrating a drug deal which led to the death of an 18-year-old girl. Smith, 37, is facing criminal charges for distribution/solicitation with an electronic device (cellphone), reckless conduct, and criminal intent to distribute methadone.
Whether Smith will be charged in accessory to the girl’s death is still being determined. Authorities say Smith made several phone calls and text messages on behalf of the victim to a third party in hopes of acquiring drugs. The victim had been known to babysit for Smith on occasion.
According to Sergeant Faye Spaulding of the Barrow County Sheriff’s Office, Smith willingly facilitated in acquiring methadone (a synthetic opiate) and Xanax (anti-anxiety medication), both controlled substances, for the 18-year-old.
The teen was discovered the following morning, Valentine’s Day, dead. The unidentified teenager passed away in her home sometime during the night, after ingesting the illicit drugs supplied by Smith.
Smith was arrested and released after posting an $8,000 bond.
The cause of death has not been officially declared, however toxicology reports do reflect high levels of controlled substances in the girl’s system, suggesting a possible overdose.
A statement provided by the school superintendent Wanda Creel, confirms Smith has been terminated after 14 years of educational service as a result of the allegations. An ethics complaint has also been filed with the Georgia Professional Standards Commission.
Methadone is mainly used in the treatment of opioid dependence. It has a cross-tolerance with other opioids such as heroin and morphine, offering very similar effects and has a longer duration. Xanax is used to treat anxiety disorders, panic disorders, and anxiety caused by depression.
Independently, and while under prescribed care, the two drugs are effective at treating their respective disorders or addictions. Used recreationally, the combination of methadone and Xanax is lethal. Taking both substances together can multiply the effects of each substance, lessening consciousness and breathing.

The Olsen Twins $55,000 Prescription Pill Junkie Bag
Today, there are more people dying from prescriptions drugoverdoses than from traffic accidents.
But none of that seems to matter to Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen, also
known as the Olsen twins. They probably
think they’re hilarious with their new line of junkie pill freak bags. Fact is however that this is just not
funny.
To top it all off, this pill riddled tote of nightmarish stupidity can be yours for $55,000 smackeroos! Hey, these days not even Lindsay Lohan can afford that!
To top it all off, this pill riddled tote of nightmarish stupidity can be yours for $55,000 smackeroos! Hey, these days not even Lindsay Lohan can afford that!
The fist thing that comes to mind when examining the “creative
factors” of this disgusting bag, is that
it looks like it was inspired by Michael Jackson and Whitney Houston’s
toxicology report! (May they rest in
peace.) Hey, maybe someone could make a
pill that would make stupid celebrities leave the spotlight. Really Mary Kate and Ashley, is this the best
you can do? What’s next? Crack pipe earrings and heroin junkie rubber
bands with needle charms for bracelets?
Don’t you guys understand that our nation has a major drug
problem with prescription drugs? If this
was supposed to be a publicity stunt, I can’t think of anything worse coming
from Mary Kate and Ashley. Target stores
should never carry anymore Olsen twins products.
