Miley Cyrus follows Madonna's "Lead" by Promoting the Dangerous Club Drug Ecstasy in the Mega Hit "We Can't Stop" AND goes One Step Beyond by Admitting She Lied to Her Fans!

Miley Cyrus just admitted to lying about the message in her song "We Can't Stop" admitting the song refers to the underground club drug ecstasy.  I guess we can thank Madonna for this as it was her who unveiled the nickname for ecstasy when she asked at a concert last year if anyone had seen "Molly." 

According to Zach, Zang and The Gang, the mega hit "caught a lot of flack for its overt drug references -- including a line that sounds like 'dancing with molly' (aka MDMA)."

Producers tried to sugarcoat it by saying listeners misunderstood the lyrics and that the words actually said "dancing with Miley."  Turns out Miley realized no one is buying it.

Miley told the Daily Mail, "If you're aged ten [the lyric is] Miley. If you know what I'm talking about then you know. I just wanted it to be played on the radio and they've already had to edit it so much. I don't think people have a hard time understanding that I've grown up. You can Google me and you know what I'm up to -- you know what the lyric is saying."  

Promoting a dangerous drug like ecstasy and acting like an out-of-control, rebellious child by lying about it to her own fans, is hardly something responsible grown ups would do.  One has to wonder how many kids have now taken this dangerous drug because Madonna made it known and Miley though it was a good idea to follow Madonna's lead and make it "popular."

Dear Beyonce, this is a Girl to Girl note.

I have always admired your amazing voice and have liked your music dating all the way back to Destiny’s Child.  You have come a long way and will go even farther but I do think it's time you considered "taming the flames of Sasha."  I want you to know that I wish you great success in all your future endeavors, but there is something I really want you to keep in mind, especially now that you’re a 31-year old mother.

I want to take you back in time for a moment and tell you about the time I was in my late teens and early twenties.  The great female pop-culture icon in my day was Madonna.  She had some of the greatest songs, wore the coolest clothes, did the craziest things and more than anything, she didn’t give a damn about what people really thought of her.  By the way, today, I don’t think that is such a great thing anymore, but back then I thought it was “cool.”

I absolutely loved Madonna and for me she was someone I idolized.  I began to dress like her, wearing corsets and leather jackets with crosses and pearls.  I smoked cigarettes like her, danced alone at clubs like she did in her videos, and made myself into this “untouchable sexual revolutionary” like Madonna was, and still is today. 

Madonna made marriage into a sport and having a daughter into a hobby.  Today, her daughter smokes just like she does, which brings me to my point.  

Your performance at the SuperBowl looked like you worked very hard.  The choreography was fabulous, you and your dancers and band mates looked amazing, but quite honestly; was it really necessary to flash your crotch at the audience and at the cameras?  Little children and senior citizens watch the Super Bowl and I’m pretty sure not everyone wanted to see you flash your coochie at the camera.  

I loved your outfit, but thought now that you’re a mom, shouldn’t you be wearing pants or maybe shorts?  I mean, you just had your baby and I remember how great you looked in that sequin jacket and the long pants when you first showed off you baby bump.  I thought that outfit showed you have class.

Personally, I like to see you doing things your way but I also think there’s a time and place for everything.  By the way, I no longer emulate Madonna today and I don’t look back at my behavior back then with fond memories of idolizing such a socially irresponsible woman.  As a matter of fact, I think I was rather foolish to think I had any of her qualities.  I think as one of the great female icons out there, you have an opportunity to guide young women who are watching very carefully what you do. 

They watch what you wear, how you do your hair, your nails, how you move, where you go and who you go with.  They watch who your husband is and how he treats you and they look at who he was before he married you and what he was about back then.  It is important that you realize you have the power to help him be a more classy icon as well, if you lead like a lady.  To your credit, at least since he's married you and now has a daughter, he has promised not to refer to women a "bitches and ho's" anymore in his music. I guess we can all thank God for that.

I do think if you keep on performing like you were twenty years old when in fact you are now a 31-year old mom, you might end up like Madonna.  Which isn’t bad, Madonna still rocks, but is that what you want?   I look back to the time you sang the National Anthem at the Super Bowl of 2004.  When I think of your future, that is how I see you.  I hope you do too, for the sake of your daughter and all the young women out there who look to you for answers.

DJ Deadmau5 and Trance DJ Paul Van Dyk Standing Up for what is Right

DJ Deadmau5 and Trance DJ Paul Van Dyk are setting a good example for young people and are putting Madonna and drug using concert goers on notice, that promoting drug use is NOT OKAY. According to the Hollywood Reporter, Van Dyk made a public statement, heard around the world, that Madonna's comments (made in front of a crowd of 50,000) about "Molly", hinting at Ecstasy use, were STUPID, counterproductive and do not represent what electronica dance music is about.

I wonder if Madonna even knows that Ecstasy can cause serious irreversible brain damage and damages the central nervous system. In the above TMZ segment, we can learn more about the reckless comments Madonna made and what impression she left on her audience by doing so. Ironically, the original video, showing Madonna making these comments, has now been removed from YouTube.

Madonna Lies when She Says She does Not Promote Drug Use

Madonna has been promoting "the art of crossing the line" for a long time. But now I think she has stepped over the line. At 2 min 28 seconds in this 2010 music video of "Give It 2 Me", Madonna who said only yesterday, as reported by TMZ, that she does not support drug use, had a song that hit the airwaves that said the words "get stupid, don't stop it" 32 two times (lyrics here). The lyrics also say "if it's against the law arrest me." If that is not promoting drug use and alcohol abuse I don't know what is.

While TMZ reports that Madonna disputes any knowledge of the term "molly" to mean Ecstasy, this is hardly believable. Even if she knew about it and knew she would lessen the perception of harm of this very dangerous illicit drug by saying what she said, if she did not refer to Ecstasy with her comments, she also should have said so. In my opinion, Madonna has no acceptable excuse for what she said.

Recently Madonna performed at the Ultra Music Festival and asked the audience if anyone had seen “molly”?

“Molly” is a known ingredient in the illicit drug Ecstasy and to ask this question is about as irresponsible, crazy and reckless as it gets. Madonna made these comments knowing there were thousands of people in the audience. Guess her comments about how sad she was that Michael Jackson died were never meat to be sincere in the first place. I am glad to see that DJ Deadmau5 had the courage to stand up to her and speak his mind.

Promoting illicit drug use is unfortunately part of the music industry and since it became widely known back in the 1970’s, i.e. Jim Morrison, Jimi Hendrix to name a few, we have not been able to regulate it or stop it. Nowadays some recording artists feel it is “part of their craft” to be intoxicated and promote their drug of choice; be it alcohol, marijuana or other dangerous substances. I for one would advise anyone not to buy the music these artists produce. While the music may sound nice, the lyrical message calls for drug use and it promotes an unhealthy way of thinking. I wonder what Madonna’s daughter thinks about her remarks to the audience?

It also goes to show that artists have the power to use his or her voice to either do good or to instigate stupid ideas like “has anyone seen molly?” Madonna has always had a track record of doing whatever she wants regardless of what others thought of her. From standing on the street naked, while hitchhiking and smoking a cigarette, to crossing the line between religious principles and fornication, Madonna’s message leaves us with one certainty. She could care less!

Parents beware! Don’t let your kinds believe Madonna’s attitude toward drug use is innocent or harmless. Madonna should apologize for her comments immediately.
